What is INS? The Infusion Nurses Society was establishedover 25 years ago and is considered the premier professional organization for infusion nurse specialists.Because of it’s scope, many pharmacists, doctors and other healthcare workers have joined its ranks and contribute regularly to our knowledge and expertise. For more than 40 years, INS has been committed to bringing innovative new resources and opportunities to a wide range of healthcare professionals who are involved with the specialty practice of infusion therapy. Membership is open to all healthcare professionals from all practice settings who are involved in or interested in the specialty practice of infusion therapy. Whether you work in a hospital, in homecare, in an ambulatory infusion center; whether you are an infusion nurse specialist, a pharmacist, a generalist nurse, or a nursing student, INS strives to support your commitment to high-quality infusion care.
How can INS benefit me? The Infusion Nurses Society is committed to education.Each year, there are several major educational offerings throughout the country. The annual national meeting is held in May where you will find a concentrated attendance of specialty nurses. The conference includes four days of highly requested, current topics presented by expert speakers, exhibits and a huge vendor fair.The chance to meet and network with other nurses in this specialty is unbelievable!
A Spring and Fall weekend academy are also offered throughout the country and afford timely topics and excellent speakers. The Spring Academy takes place the weekend prior to the annual conference in the same location for your convenience.

Benefits of Joining the Local Chapter...The local chapter is a group of I.V. professionals who work in different settings. Sonme are in home infusion/home care, others on I.V. teams and many in alternative settings such as infusion centers. Many work for trend setting organizations that are on the cutting edge of new therapies. Our educational programs range from the latest drugs and treatments to the newest equipment advances.
Joining the local chapter along with joing the national INS is an exciting opportunity to network with your colleagues. The small yearly membership fee for our local chapter helps defray the costs of membership gifts and office expenses. Local membership also affords you access to all of our educational events.
Serving on the chapter board is an opportunity to have a voice in the types of presentations we offer and to participate wih your colleagues in bringing educational presentations to our local area.
